A beautiful pair of earrings inspired by the pair worn by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at her Coronation in June 1953. With an elegant oval drop shining with Swarovski and Czech crystals, this exquisite pair of earrings are set into a palladium plated metal.
In December 1857, Queen Victoria lost to Hanover a significant part of the family jewels, including her grandmother Queen Charlotte's diamond necklace and earrings. Garrard was ordered to replace the lost jewels by taking stones from the Queen's collection. Both the necklace and the matching pair of earrings were often worn by Queen Victoria, who designated them as heirlooms of the Crown. Queen Alexandra and Queen Mary wore the necklace at their coronations (1901 and 1911). Queen Elizabeth wore both necklace and earrings for the 1937 coronation, as did Her Majesty The Queen for her coronation in 1953.
