Tea Pairings

While your favourite tea blend may be the perfect refreshment on its own, sometimes a sweet or savoury treat is in order. Try something new with these suggested food pairings for our most popular tea blends, whether it's a home-baked delight or traditional biscuits and chocolates from our food hall.

Royal Breakfast Blend

Royal Breakfast Blend is bright, full flavoured and smooth, developed to be strong enough to drink alongside a classic English (or Scottish) breakfast but have the depth of flavour and smoothness to drink at any time of the day. If you're looking for a sweeter pairing, enjoy crumbly all-butter shortbread alongside this classic breakfast tea.

Royal Afternoon Blend

Delicate, light and balanced, this fragrant mix of high quality large leaf teas lends itself to a classic afternoon tea with cucumber sandwiches, scones and cakes. Serve in delicate fine bone china teacups alongside home baked treats from the book 'Royal Teas: Seasonal Recipes from Buckingham Palace'.

Earl Grey

A traditional Earl Grey is blended using the finest quality black teas scented with the aroma of natural oil of Bergamot, extracted from the skin of the Bergamot Orange, a hybrid citrus fruit grown in the Mediterranean.

Earl Grey is a very good partner for smoked fish, whether that’s a smoked salmon sandwich or Eggs Royale at breakfast.
