Belonging to the Honi Soit coveted collection, this magnificent footed bowl is truly inspired by a service made in c1820 for the Duke of Clarence (later William IV). Part of the service was presented as a wedding gift to The Duke and Duchess of York (later George V and Queen Mary) by the Royal Warrant holders in 1893. The ducal coronet and lion on the centre is encircled by the motto of the Order of the Garter 'Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense' ('Evil Be Unto Him Who Evil Thinks').
Decorated in bold tones of blue and 22 carat gold, and featuring two raised lion heads, this Special Edition bowl is a truly eye-catching piece.
The bowl is made entirely by hand by our skilled artisans in Stoke-on-Trent, English using fine bone English china which is highly regarded for its fineness and true delicacy.
