Palace of Holyroodhouse Strawberry Preserve
Our Palace of Holyroodhouse Strawberry Preserve is made in the UK using only the finest soft fruit. It is delicious either in the morning spread over crisp toast or for afternoon tea as the perfect accompaniment to freshly baked scones or inside a traditional Victoria sponge cake.
The Royal Coat of Arms featured on the jar is the one used in Scotland and whilst it maintains many of the same elements of the one used elsewhere it also features many uniquely Scottish symbols. The national animal of Scotland, the unicorn is crowned and stands on the dexter (the heraldic right of the shield) and the Scottish Arms are given precedence in the shield. The shield is surrounded by the Order of the Thistle and the motto of the order Nemo me impune lacessit “No one will attack me with impunity” is featured at its base with the national flower of Scotland, the thistle.
The Palace of Holyroodhouse stands in a spectacular setting at the foot of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, its walled garden surrounded by open parkland. The Palace has been a royal residence for over 500 years, and today is the official residence of His Majesty The King in Scotland.
