Hand-bound in quarter leather with Japanese silk sides, silk endpapers and ribbon marker, gold tooled, and presented in a full cloth slipcase. Each copy is individually book plated and numbered, containing 68 pages with fourteen tipped-in colour illustrations.

The original copy of this book was commissioned by Mark Lane, the Royal Gardens Manager, for Queen Elizabeth II, to mark Her Diamond Jubilee.

A faithful reproduction of the original watercolours and text, this beautiful souvenir volume contains a brief history of mulberry trees in Britain and their introduction under the royal patronage of James I, along with fully detailed botanical descriptions and illustrations of fourteen of the mulberry taxa held in the National Collection of morus in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
