Description

Number 1 edition of an original 1000.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in February 1952 and her Coronation took place on 2nd June 1953.

This English fine bone china oval pillbox was created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Coronation in 2013.

The design reflects the pomp and pageantry of the Coronation procession; the Coat of Arms is from the heraldic bearings of the coaches. The border decoration is taken from the silk damask banners of the State Trumpets which heralded the moment of crowning at Westminster Abbey.

Made by hand in Stoke-on-Trent using traditional methods unchanged for over 250 years, and finished by hand using 22 carat gold. English fine bone china is highly regarded around the world for its whiteness, fineness, delicacy, and durability.

This piece is an edition number 1 and has been in our archive since 2013, and as such, is individually numbered and certificated.

Original box and certificate.
