Lustre Cobalt Coffee Cup and Saucer Set

Lustre Cobalt Coffee Cup and Saucer Set

  • Description

Inspired by a custard cup and saucer depicting the Hanoverian Coat of Arms from the collection of Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge (the seventh son of George III). Dating from c1796-1801, the original was made by the Russian Petersburg Porcelain factory. The 'Mother of Pearl' or 'Lustre' effect first became popular in the early 19th Century and it is on this provenance that our Lustre Coffee Cups & Saucers are based. The application of Lustre, creates a controlled variety of tones and effects on the products to which it is applied and therefore each product is regarded as being unique and may differ slightly in colour.

Made entirely by hand by our skilled artisans in Stoke-on-Trent using traditional methods unchanged for over 250 years, using English fine bone china, highly regarded around the world for its whiteness, fineness and delicacy. Finished with 22 carat gold.
