Lustre Cobalt Coffee Cup and Saucer Set

£595.00

The design of this Lustre Cobalt coffee cup and saucer set is inspired by a custard cup and saucer depicting the Hanoverian Coat of Arms from the collection of Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge (the seventh son of George III). Dating from c1796-1801, the original was made by the Russian Petersburg Porcelain factory. The 'Mother of Pearl' or 'Lustre' effect first became popular in the early 19th Century and it is on this provenance that our Lustre Coffee Cups & Saucers are based. The application of Lustre, creates a controlled variety of tones and effects on the products to which it is applied and therefore each product is regarded as being unique and may differ slightly in colour.

The set consists of six cups and saucers and all are made by hand in Stoke-on-Trent, in England using fine bone English china. Every piece is wonderfully finished with a 22 carat gold design.
