The design of this plate is taken directly from a Worcester plate, one of set made for William IV when he was created Duke of Clarence and St Andrew in 1789. Today one of the plates can be seen in the China Corridor at Windsor Castle. The scalloped border is decorated with entwined blue and green ribands of the Orders of the Garter and Thistle. The badge of the Garter – St. George and the Dragon – appears at the top, and St Andrew for the Thistle below, with the stars of the Orders at either side. The Royal Ducal Arms surrounded by oak and laurel leaves are at the centre.
Made entirely by hand by our skilled artisans in Stoke-on-Trent using traditional methods unchanged for over 250 years, using English fine bone china, highly regarded around the world for its whiteness, fineness and delicacy. Finished with 22 carat gold.
