Limited edition carriage clock made by Mappin & Webb exclusively for the Royal Collection Trust. This piece is of a small edition, and as such, is individually numbered and certificated.
The enamelled face shows a specially commissioned design. This design is applied using a silk-screen process, using two tones of gold paint so as to improve the visibility of the detail. The clock has been sculpted from solid brass under the watchful eye of a master clockmaker, with each individual part hand-polished to guarantee a perfect finish.
Mappin & Webb have been Royal Warrant Holders since 1897. The company's master craftsman was appointed Crown Jeweller in 2012. A family business, the company was established in 1775, when Jonathan Mappin opened a silver workshop in Sheffield.
