This Limited edition carriage clock was commissioned by the Royal Collection Trust from Mappin & Webb to commemorate the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.

The enamelled face features a partridge eye border inspired by patterns found on Sèvres porcelain in the Royal Collection, along with ribbons and garlands of British national flowers. The clock has been sculpted from solid brass under the watchful eye of a master clockmaker, with each individual part hand-polished to guarantee a perfect finish. The clocks are manufactured using gilt 11 jewelled lever escapement with a shock protection system. This is the mechanism which controls the beat and therefore the time - the anti-shock system prevents the clock from losing or gaining time should it be knocked. The movements are purely mechanical, with no quartz being used, and the clock will run for 8 days when fully wound.

Mappin & Webb have been Royal Warrant Holders since 1897 and currently hold warrants to both Queen Elizabeth II (as jewelers, goldsmiths and silversmiths) and King Charles III (as silversmiths). The company's master craftsman was appointed Crown Jeweller in 2012. A family business, the company was established in 1775, when Jonathan Mappin opened a silver workshop in Sheffield.

Instructions The case is made of polished, lacquered, solid brass, and as such will not tarnish and does not require polishing. Simply dust with a soft, clean cloth to remove fingerprints after handling. Do not use any form of metal polish or wax. The key and certificate of authenticity are stored in the presentation box. Please do not over-wind, seven turns at most.
