This first issue Limited Edition Oval Box formed part of the official chinaware collection commissioned by Royal Collection Trust to to celebrate the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II in 2016.

The design features garlands of flowers, including the national floral emblems of Britain picked out in gold. Cornflowers appear as a tribute to June, the month of Her late Majesty’s official birthday, while forget‑me‑nots are included in honour of April, the month of Queen Elizabeth II actual birth.

Further inspiration was drawn from Buckingham Palace and the Royal Collection. The three‑loop bow echoes the motif found on a fireplace in the South Drawing Room, while the acanthus elements and cartouches reflect the gilded mouldings in Her late Majesty’s official residence. The partridge‑eye border is influenced by the patterns on a Sèvres porcelain dessert service held within the Royal Collection.

Made by hand in Stoke-on-Trent using traditional methods unchanged for over 250 years, and finished by hand using 22 carat gold. English fine bone china is highly regarded around the world for its whiteness, fineness, delicacy, and durability.

We’ve aimed to show all notable imperfections in the accompanying photographs, though collectors will appreciate that with items of this age and provenance, very small characteristics may remain unseen.
