A limited edition of 100.
Presented in a hand made gift box with a numbered certificate.
This limited edition Gadroon Oval is a reproduction from a service by Royal Worcester, commissioned by William IV in 1830.
Today this spectacular service is used every year at the Garter Day luncheon in the Waterloo Chamber at Windsor Castle. The border surrounding the Royal Coat of Arms is painted with the insignia of the British orders of chivalry.
Gadrooning is the term used to describe a series of curved, convex or concave flutings, used as a decorative edging on articles of silverware and porcelain etc. Gadrooning was widely used during the Italian Renaissance, and in the classicising phases of 18th and early 19th-century design.
Made by hand in Stoke-on-Trent using traditional methods unchanged for over 250 years, and finished by hand using 22 carat gold. English fine bone china is highly regarded around the world for its whiteness, fineness, delicacy, and durability.
