To celebrate the 70th Wedding Anniversary on 20th November 2017 of HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Buckingham Palace have collaborated with Mappin & Webb to make this Limited Edition 70th Wedding Anniversary Carriage Clock.

The design shows an entwined monogram of HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, inspired by the elaborate gilded carving of the thrones in the Throne Room, Buckingham Palace, whilst the double knot is a feature of the Garter Throne Room at Windsor Castle.

Mappin & Webb have been Royal Warrant Holders since 1897, and currently hold warrants to both Her Majesty The Queen (as jewellers, goldsmiths and silversmiths) and HRH The Prince of Wales (as silversmiths). The company's master craftsman was appointed Crown Jeweller in 2012. A family business, the company was established in 1775, when Jonathan Mappin opened a silver workshop in Sheffield.
