This first issue English fine bone china teacup and saucer was inspired by a dessert service presented by the people of Derby to the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George V and Queen Mary, to mark their marriage in 1893.

The elegant design reproduces details from the original service, featuring the intertwined initials of the Duke and Duchess of York beneath their coronet and framed by delicate floral swags and a graceful floral border. Richly decorated with hand-applied 22 carat gold, the pattern celebrates one of the most significant royal weddings of the late Victorian era.

This teacup and saucer is made by hand in Stoke-on-Trent from English fine bone china using traditional methods unchanged for over 250 years, and finished by hand using 22 carat gold. English fine bone china is highly regarded around the world for its whiteness, fineness, delicacy and durability.

Presented in a luxury handmade Buckingham Palace Limited Edition gift box with its numbered certificate. Each piece is engraved with the prestigious Limited Edition Number 1. As these pieces are finished by hand, slight variations are a natural characteristic of the craft and contribute to the individual character of each piece.
