These delightful cups decorated with scrolls, pearls and a garland of flowers on which a parrot perches, are inspired by a French cup known as a 'Goblet litron' made in 1780 by the Sèvres porcelain factory. Often given individually as presents they were considered the perfect rich man's gift. The original piece, almost certainly purchased by George IV, is displayed in Buckingham Palace.
