The Florilegium of Alexander Marshal contains 159 folios of watercolours depicting more than 600 varieties of plants, insects, birds and animals and is the only known example of a flower book painted by an English artist in the seventeenth century.
This beautifully illustrated large format catalogue, which includes 160 full page colour plates, is the first in a series of four catalogues devoted to the Natural History drawings in the Royal Collection.
